Rupatadine

Generic Name : Rupatadine

International- Rupafin, Alergoliber, Rinialer, Pafinur, Rupax and Ralif.


Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an antihistamine, prescribed for allergic rhinitis and urticaria (hives).




When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Hypersensitivity.



When it is to be taken : 
Adult: PO- Allergic rhinitis; Chronic idiopathic urticaria- The recommended dose is 10 mg once daily.

How it should be taken : 
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, as directed by your physician.




Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver impairment, elderly, children less than 12 years, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.


* Avoid alcohol consumption.



* It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

Side Effects : 
Headache, drowsiness, weakness, fatigue and dizziness.

Other Precautions : 
*Avoid excess dosage.

Storage Conditions : 
Store it at room temperature and in an airtight container.
